Robin was a star pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1950's. Robin led the 1950 Phillies, known as the Whiz Kids, to the 1950 NL Pennant. They lost to Joe DiMaggio and the Mighty Yankees in the 1950 World Series 4-0. Robin won 20 games 6 times. He was a 7 time All Star, starting a record 5 All Star games. Robin was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.
